Whenever possible, we like to enter the classroom to educate students and teachers about Fair Trade and the social and environmental benefits of our RESPECT line of Fair Trade Sports balls and Fair Trade products.
During one recent visit to a kindergarden class, I discovered that the children really enjoy learning how the sports balls are produced by parents in other parts of the world.
However, many American students, of all ages, are unaware that not all children get to go to school and that some have to work. Companies like Fair Trade Sports ensure that doesn’t happen in locations where our sports balls are made.
Next, we discuss the entire manufacturing process and how Fair Trade Sports’ after-tax profits go to help programs like Room to Read and Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
It’s amazing what kind of questions you get from young minds.
They are excited about sports and they’re already thinking about what they can do to create positive change in the world.
