Granted, it was only for a single order, but that order has now been repeated this year.
Our Fair Trade counterparts in Sweden brought enough pressure (er, “encouragement”) on the soccer giant Umbro that they became licensed with the FLO to import certified Fair Trade soccer balls into Sweden. Hooray!
Given the similar recent victory of the Bavarian government to convince the multinational brand Puma to do become FLO certified for a soccer ball project in South Africa, this is a good trend to see. Major change will happen from these small victories.
